Are you a creative person who loves children? Check out Early Childhood Education, a two-year, six credit program, where you will learn many of the skills the education and childcare professions are seeking in qualified candidates! You will learn in a state-of-the-art preschool with 3 and 4 year-olds , and you will even have the opportunity intern in local elementary schools, preschools, and daycare centers!

In addition to going straight to the work force, our graduates have many options after successfully completing their courses! Further your education at a community college, technical school or university:
Early Childhood Teacher Nanny Au Pair Parks and Rec Counselor Child Daycare Teacher Home Daycare Provider Teacher Assistant Special Education Teacher Education Administrator		TCC: AAS Early Chilldhood Education NSU: attend TCC for 3 years and finish the fourth year at NSU and get a BS in Education! Most, if not all, universities offer programs in education!





All students at the Tech Center have the option to obtain an internship towards the end of their experience here. The philosophy is that there is invaluable knowledge and experience to be gained working side-by-side with a professional in an actual environment. Right now students in Early Childhood are working on:
Taking field trips to: Oceana Day Care, Preschool Assessment Center, The Goddard School, Early Childhood Education lab at TCC, North Landing Elementary School Library Attending the Parenting Forum at CHKD in Norfolk Earning First Aid and CPR certifications Volunteering for a non-profit cheer organization Participating in FCCLA projects, community service opportunities, conferences, and competitions
