Right now students in LSA are working on:
|
LSA Day at the Courthouse-- students are paired with a paralegal, court reporter, or court clerk for the day to learn about that person's job. Students who are paired with the court clerk sit in the courtroom during a live trial, near the judge.
Visiting the Virginia Beach courthouse and the federal courthouse in Norfolk to meet with judges and lawyers, observe court cases, and even sit in the judges chair (when court is not in session, of course!)
Research professional dress and present do's and don'ts and create an entire professional outfit
Watch a local court reporter demonstrate how to use the transcription machine and then get to try it out themselves
